How can registrants pay if they forget when registering
October 31, 2011, 11:21:51 am
Hi.  I'm using CiviCRM 4.0.6 on dupal 7.4.  I have an event using the Google checkout payment processor.  Some of the registrants are forgetting to click the google checkout button to pay for the event.  Currently these registrants have the status of 'Pending from incomplete transaction'.  Is there a way I can send them to the registration page and pay from there, without having to re-register?

Thanks.

I don't think so.
I think best approach would be to delete registrations with 'Pending from incomplete transaction' and email those participants to register.

I agree that this is an problem. We got a partial fix with the PaymentExpress payment processor by making the fail redirect to to

civicrm/event/confirm?reset=1&cc=fail&participantId=x (where x is id)

They still get 2 contribution records but only 1 participant record & it is making it better for us (still not good but I figure that I won't look for a better solution until CiviAccounts project is completed)

Yes, this has been a problem for us using paypal standard.  We get about 10% pending because when they hit the paypal screen they are either looking for their paypal password, or can't figure out they accept credit cards w/out a paypal account.  We've lost a lot in donations (I'm trying to move to paypal pro).  It might be ideal if the payment fails to:
1. run a cron to check if the payments are incomplete
2. ideally check if there is a payment by contact for the same amount in the event / contribution page and if so assume transaction completed in a duplicate and change status to failed.
3. if no duplicate, notify the contact after a configurable period that the payment has not been processed and include a link to the pending transaction so they can complete it.
4. after a configurable period or attempts fail the transaction.

not sure how widespread this issue is but see a lot in the forum.
