I have a Menu item in Joomla that is using the Component-CiviCRM to allow me to Search and List one of the profiles that I have setup. When I click on the Menu item it doesn't just show the Search option in the main window, it also includes the Administrator menu as if I was logged into the Administer CiviCRM Component.... I see the Web Site's left menu AND then the admin menu (Find CRM Home, Find Contacts, Manage Groups, Import and so on... ) AND I see the Search option.

I've searched the forum but to no avail... please advise

That's really strange. I have multiple sites running with Joomla and have never seen that happen.

Are you running Joomla with SEF turned on? I've had a couple issues with CiviCRM when SEF was on.
If not, can you post the url generated by the menu item? (you can exclude the domain and just give the url from index.php)
