and all of its contribution history, etc etc?

I inadvertently had us set up to allow new accounts created and there are 3 I'd like to delete but I don't want to lose the contact record or their contribution history stuff.

Better safe than sorry - and I don't see anything on this in documentation - although frankly I wasn't sure where exactly to search for it either. Probably not a common issue?

In Drupal 7 CiviCRM 4.0 it doesn't and I don't think it ever did. Should be safe to delete your user. Make a backup of your DBs first if you have concern.
