I'm currently reviewing civicrm, and the one the question I haven't been able to find an answer to is, does civicrm support online contests, or can I setup a Drupal contest (just a webform) to populate the civicrm database?

yes to the latter - there is a brilliant webform-civicrm integration module (more cheers for coleman  ;D)

I am giving Pete kickbacks... he gets half of all the karma points I get from this module  ;)
