Author Topic: Always get already exists error when create new customer field in Chinese (Read 689 times)

Hi All,
I got a problem when creating the customer field and customer data group in Chinese. When I use a Chinese name, I always get the data already exists error. However, when I tried "专业1" (i.e,. Chinese character with some non-Chinese character), it works. But when I check the customer_field table in database, the field name is just "_1". For my know, the field name is generated by civicrm according to the lable. I assume there are something wrong to generate this field from Chinese character. Is this a bug? Or is there any work around for that? Thanks in advance.

I dived into the code and found the root cause of this problem today. It is probably a code defect. Here I posted another thread in the developer discussion section of this forum with one of my work around. Hopefully the problem can be fixed.
