civimail without postfix, please help!
February 02, 2008, 05:14:43 am
I'm about http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/CiviMail+Admin
"To use all of the features of CiviMail you must complete... See CiviMail Configuration...Then Postfix "
1) I want to use only simple function of civimail. I don't have to install postfix. Am I right ?

2) Like in http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,1687.0.html
I test the mailing, I have done this and I do receive the result of the test. I then try to send the mailing (immediately) and I don’t receive any letters.

I tried to run sites/all/modules/civicrm/bin/civimail.cronjob.php?name=USERNAME&pass=PASSWORD

But I don't understand about name=USERNAME&pass=PASSWORD
Is it privileged cms user ? or
It's USERNAME and password for mail account in civicrm/admin/setting/smtp?reset=1

You do need some kind of SMTP server to actually deliver the emails, but most probably something is set up at your provider’s already; in this case, it doesn’t have to be Postfix.

Because you only scheduled the mailing, not sent it.

You can try going to the …civicrm/mailing/queue URL and it should send the mailings that are (past) due.

This is the username + password pair of an CMS user that has CiviMail access rights.
