CiviAuth installed - J! reports error "Registration is not working" ?? (Solved)
November 10, 2011, 05:48:55 am
Hi,

I've got the CiviAuthentication plugin installed, turned the default Joomla authentication plugin off as recommended.   Now I get the 'blue bar' info message:  "Registration is not working" in the backend.

Is there something else I need to set ??  ???

J!- 1.7.2
Civicrm - 4.0.7

Thanks,

Neil

I'm assuming that you talking about this http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC40/Joomla+CiviCRM+Membership+Authentication+and+ACL+Plugin plugin?

I've never seen the "'blue bar' info message" or the error that you're getting so I've no idea where to start.  A screen shot might help.

A quick google indicates it may be a template issue. Really no idea why that would be but I never tested it with default templates.  If you do get some more info or find a bug then let us know or update the code.

Its weird.  I'm using the standard admin template, and apparently is coming in as a system message.   I have no problem logging in using the standard login module either.

Just weird.

Two attachments.  One shows the screen shot at the Joomla control panel, the next from within a component page (Akeeba Backup).

Everything works, just wondering why the message ??

and if you revert the to the "Authentication - Joomla" in the Plug-in manager (disabling Authentication - CiviCRM) the message goes away?

I'm not sure we touch registration. We just look at the authentication process.

DOH !!!   :-[

I had disabled the Login Module's 'offer registration' link from the User Manager thinking that I don't want anyone to register without going through the membership signup.

Sorry to be a bother.
