Volunteer position history tracking
November 10, 2011, 02:04:13 pm
We are evaluating CiviCRM for the use for our non-profit organization that holds events 2 x a year and we have a growing community of volunteers that we need to maintain information on.  For each event a team is built from existing volunteers and part of the team building process is to look at what the person has done in the past and then select people to serve in areas that they have not in the past.  The teams would be built for each event in CiviCRM and then we would want a process to auto-update their volunteer history after the event.  We will need to provide reporting on this for the people responsible for building these teams.   We know this will require customizations to the existing features and just looking for anyone that has done similar types of enhancements and any guidance they could provide use as we move forward in investigating this.

Perhaps if you view the participant records as the volunteer history then you can add whatever custom data fields you need & expose them through a search profile and / or views.
