Custom fields for Cases

Are Custom fields for Cases planned?

It would be great to be able to search for cases where custom fields have certain values.
Every Case Type could use a different set of Status Fields imo.

Yes it will be part of CiviCRM v4.1

Nice! And I do agree it would make sense to have a specific set of statusses for each case type.

You could simulate per-casetype statuses by using prefixes. I admit it's not perfect, but e.g.

Let
ADCR = Adult Day Care Referral
HS = Housing Support

then have statuses
ADCR-open
ADCR-closed
ADCR-urgent
HS-open
HS-pending
HS-closed
HS-urgent
HS-declined
