Price Sets Cropping up in Free Event
February 03, 2008, 03:44:39 am
My first run with CiviEvent was successful, so I'm giving it another go.  The first event was a paid conference with various options - used a price set.  Even funded some development to squash some bugs so we could use it for online reg.

Just upgraded to 1.9.  Did the bug squashing that we funded get built into 1.9?

This new event is free - no fee.  In the "Recent Registration" list at  (com_civicrm / civicrm/event or  CiviCRM -> CiviEvent) the fee level column for all registrants reads (no fee) but if I click on the "show" link in the events table at the top of the page, the fee level for those registrations that I have manually entered in the backend show the correct (no fee) but online registrants show items from the price set used for our recent conference.

Not sure who you funded, and what bugs were squashed. Can you please give us issue numbers. Better yet, can you please test and verify those issues are fixed on the CiviCRM sandbox

Forgive me for not being specific enough.  The error was fixed and we successfully ran our event with online registration.  The files changed were:
Participant.php
Participant.tpl
Register.php
Selector.tpl

Our development contact was Claudian Fernandes.

The issue number is CRM-2267

It shows committed to trunk back in November but "fixed" indicates 2.0

I don't know if the error I'm having now is related.  I will ask the other user that shared in the development underwriting to take a look at this thread to see if he's having similar errors.  I don't see these errors on the Drupal sandbox.  Since this is our first "no fee" event I can't say if they originate with the 1.9 upgrade or were there before.

Hey Father Shawn,

No, the changes we worked with Claudian on were not included in 1.9, but he expected them to be integrated into 2.0. 1.9 was too far along the development cycle for them to be included (and that release just dealt with high priority bugs and CiviMail anyway).

So you'll need to implement the files he provided into your 1.9 installation. I have done that with at least one site, and it worked fine. However, I don't remember if I simply used the files Claudian had edited directly, or whether I transferred his changes into the 1.9 versions of the file (i.e. accounting for any other changes that might have happened to the 1.9 version).

Lobo,

The changes we worked with Claudian on fixed the price set functionality in the backend. In 1.8 and 1.9, price sets worked fine for the front end user. But if you needed to register someone for an event via the backend, the price set functionality was completely missing.

The ticket shows it as verified for 2.0. I'll take a look at the demon to confirm.

thanks,
Brian

Thanks for jogging my memory, Brian!

It's not a big deal, as the front end registration works for the free event, and our office knows it's free.

The whole thing worked wonderfully for the paid conference.  Thanks for helping move the price sets along so that was possible!
