500 Server Error
November 14, 2011, 09:50:12 am
I have been encountering the below error message since last Friday (11/11). If anyone could offer any input/feedback, I would really appreciate it.

"500 SERVER ERROR
The web server encountered an error and was unable to complete your request.
If this error persists, please contact the webmaster and inform them
of the time the error occurred, as well as anything you might have
done that may have caused the error."

Thanks!

Hi. This is an internal server error and so the best thing is to ask your host if they can see what error is recorded in the error logs.

Aside from that, do you recall anything happening or changing on Friday to cause this?

Thanks! And no, I don't recall anything out of the ordinary happening on Friday. I guess I need to forward the question to CiviHost.

You have just contacted CiviHosting now via this forum. :)

If the issue is a 500 Server Error when importing a large CSV file, then the solution is to break up that file into smaller pieces. A large CSV file will often run into a CPU timeout.

Thank you.
