Front End Profile Issue - Members cannot view each others public profile details
November 16, 2011, 10:43:38 am
I have a Membership Directory where logged in/registered members can view a membership directory.
So far the profile is;
-  active and set to be displayed in Profile and Search Results
-  Group[ has been set to output just a specific group of people
-  The Group settings has been set to Public Display and Listing
-  All navigational links are set to only display to registered Joomla users
-  Sync is correct between CRM and Joomla
-  All fields used (including x1 custom field) has been set to display and have the Public Display and Listing selected

My problem is that logged in users can "View" their own profile when they click through from the search results page to the full details page.
However, when they click on to view the detailed profile of another member, with no error or alert, they are directly redirected to  website homepage.

It appears to be a permission thing, but I have researched everywhere, and any ACL advise is not applicable to my version."

Please , does anyone have any idea what more I can/ or should do to get the profiles to display between registered users.

I'm running Joomla 1.5 and CiviCRM 3.4.3.

Thank you in advance.

this is a limitation of the civicrm / joomla 1.5 integration

u'll need to migrate to joomla 1.6 which has a better permissioning model that civi has integrated with

Hi Lobo, thank you so very much for such a quick response.

I have just completed the site, and this was the absolute last requirements I needed to do  :-[

Quick question just to plan assist in plotting the way forward.  Can I assume that;
- I have two options, Joomla 1.6 or Drupal 6, will this issue reappear here?
- Joomla 1.6, do you know if it will be safe to go the upgrade route, or a clean install rather?

Thank you in advance.
