Make the mailing content available for the public
November 24, 2011, 06:29:43 am
Hi,

Could you please help to find out how can I grant "view public CiviMail content" permission to anonymous users?
Simply I cannot find that option.
The page on "wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC40/Online+Publication+and+Email+Permalink" doesn't explain it clear.

Thank you.

This is not available for joomla 1.5, I think it might work on joomla 1.6 but not sure. It will definitely work well on drupal,

My site is Drupal 7.9 CiviCRM 4.0.7 ... is there a built-in option to publish the email content on the site for permissioned users to see? I haven't been able to find it if so.

I've tested this feature and found some problems.

The email does show as a webpage, but it preserves links* that won't open from the browser version even when the link in the e-mail works fine. Clicking on these links gives the error:

Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.
Invalid form parameters.
Return to home page.

(Yet there are no errors showing in the log; I do see a notice: "Notice: Undefined variable: data in civicrm_views_plugins() (line 6917 of {path}/sites/all/modules/civicrm/drupal/modules/views/civicrm.views.inc).")

Also, clicking on "Read in browser {mailing.viewUrl}" from the browser version itself gives a 403.

On the positive side, the browser version was smart enough not to display the email address from the footer message, "This update was sent to {contact.email}."

BTW, my browser version opened for me as an anonymous user. I haven't tested with an authenticated session. I do have permissions wide open for "view public CiviMail content."
