PCP contributions affecting memberships?
November 28, 2011, 02:47:52 pm
One of our members parents has a Personal Campaign Page. Someone else has made a 'pay later' contribution. A cheque has duly turned up so I've updated the payment status from "pending" to "completed".

The system then reports: "The contribution record has been saved.
Membership for [name of person who paid] has been updated. The membership End Date is December 31st, 2013."

eh? This is a donor with no memberships. The fundraiser isn't a member (his child is).

The previous donation I acknowledged received did much the same thing (but that non-member was supposedly extended to end-2012.

Any ideas what is going on? Why would changing the payment status of a PCP donation trigger any code about memberships?

Thanks.
