View Change Log not displaying all changes

New contributions or changes to contributions are not being displayed as part of the View Change log. I have verified that the changes appear in the SQL log tables but when the record is displayed and I select View Change Log those changes do not show up in the Browser. Changes to the contact (e.g., name) seem to be displayed properly but other changes like contributions do not. I am running v 3.4.7. Is the display of detailed logging something for which I need v4?

Assuming you have the "Logging" feature enabled, changes to contribution records are displayed using the Contribution Logging Summary and Detail reports. These are not added to the Reports navigation menu by default (although you can add them of course). You can access them from Reports > Reports Listing.

Logging is enabled. I'm afraid I don't know how I access the Reports to which you are referring.  I just modified a contribution amount and  I then clicked on View Change Log. All that I see is the contact name for the record and my name and that when the original contribution was Inserted with no other details such as I get when I do View Change Log for a change made to a contact name. Furthermore, the Edit I made to the contribution does not appear in View Change Log at all.

I found the Reports under Administer and the Contribution Detail Report does indeed show the update. However, why doesn't this information show up when I click View Change Log when I'm displaying the contact's record?

Could it be that the list of the log was just taking a while to build and display? (which just caught me out)

Dave any chance there could be some 'indicator' that the list is being built so that users wait long enough before giving up?
