What do you mean by mini-sites in this context? Aren't you talking about Drupal (or Joomla) functionality?

Thx,

I'm installing civi with Joomla as CMS.

My scenario is we're doing a school community portal project.

We're looking for a solution where we can allow individual schools to create their own school website with on line web tools at our portal.

As far as we know - there isn't a Community Builder bridge for CiviCRM yet. You might want to inquire on the Community Builder section of the Joomla forums - let us know if you discover something.

Did anyone find out if there was some sort of bridge between Civi and community builder or even JomSocial. It would be great if you could link the user tables for example in order to enable member organiseations to integrate social networking tools on their websites without having to have data in two places. Ie member can update profile and it updates civi tables.

Not sure how easy or hard this is.

We are not aware of any bridge / integration with CB or JomSocial. Note that CiviCRM does synch it's contacts with the Joomla user table. Not sure how much that helps since I'm not familiar w/ those modules.
