Upgrade failing - what am I missing?

Hi, I've downloaded the Joomla-alt version of the 4.1-Alpha, installed it on J1.7.1 with the en_GB localisation..

The install says it is 'fine, now update the database' (as usual) but the db updater says that my db is already at v4.0.6 and the version number when I look in the component just shows as v4.0.6, as if it hasn't upgraded at all.

Am I missing something obvious? I've done what I have done a dozen times to install Civi upgrades so ....

Did you run upgrade after installing alpha1?

You might be missing some steps mentioned on this page: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC41/Upgrade+Joomla+Sites+to+4.1
