Book Design
December 09, 2011, 02:26:16 am
I've been spending a good deal of time in recent weeks reading the printed book "CiviCRM: A Comprehensive Guide", and as a result I've got a number of ideas and suggestions about how the layout and design of the book could be improved - separately from the content itself - in order to improve the navigability of the book.

I'm thinking mainly about type size, typeface, page furniture, margins, etc. The book is also crying out for an index IMHO.
Are these aspects managed through the booki interface? or by other mechanisms?

Keen to get stuck in.

Graham - would be great to have your involvement. Michael McAndrew and some others are planning on working on the book during next weeks NL sprint - and we're planning on having remote participants (including Lobo and myself from the US :-)). One of the goals is to move the online book to the CiviCRM.org domain and update the styling to "fit in". Seems like this would also be a good opportunity to make some other layout improvements - although not sure what's easy and what's not.

Would be great if you can join the sprint and work w/ Michael et al.

Thanks for this Dave. I'll certainly aim to set aside some time next week as this seems an ideal opportunity to make some input.
