Hi, I'm wondering if it's possible (or if anyone has come up with a good way) to include soft-credited gifts in a hard-credit contribution search or report.

We use soft credits extensively, often between a two members of a couple who give jointly. If I look for recent contributions, only Hard-Credited Spouse shows up, and I run the risk of dumping Soft-Credited Spouse into "Needs to get a lot of annoying lapsed donor appeals" group.

Right now I'm running Excel list comparisons to make sure we're not sending two different mailings to the same household -- and that only works if the soft-credited pair live at the same address. Or I run the Soft Credit Report on everyone in the "lapsed donor appeals" group and try to see who's in it that's soft-credited with a current gift, which is not very efficient.

Has anyone come up with a better workflow for this, or a custom search/report that includes both soft and hard credited gifts?

Yes, I can see how the ability to include household contributions in a contribution search/report would be a similar feature.

As for other systems, we previously used Raiser's Edge -- their search has a check-box at the top that says "Include soft-credits?". If checked, the results will include both the hard-credited person/contribution AND the soft-credited person/contribution.
