Past groups appear in export

When I export people and include the groups field in Excel, it shows their past groups as well as their current ones.  This was mentioned in http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,94.msg326.html#msg326 with a fix mentioned for 1.8 so I may be missing something but I've just managed to reproduce it on the demo. 

I know that in 4.1 or 4.2 there's a fix so that the number shown on the groups tab reflects only current groups not past ones (as is the case at the moment).  Might that development also sort out the export issue?

Hi lobo - I've just done that now.  On the sandbox I deleted Dave White from the group Related contacts test group - children and then exported him.  In the groups field it showed the group I'd removed him from as well as the Administrators group he was still in.  Hope that helps.

would be good if you can get your developer to investigate and help patch this bug. If so, please ask her/him to file an issue and attach the patch

Ok - I'll see what I can do.  It'll probably be in the new year - presumably that's too late for 4.1...?

yes, but we can use the patch for 4.2 which will be in pretty active development by then
