Usability for CiviMail -- Convert all styles to be inline?
December 11, 2011, 02:47:23 pm
Folks,

I'm writing a proposal for a client to upgrade to Drupal 7 amd Civi 4 from Drupal 6/Salsa.

Luckily, this client likes very simple email templates, so I'm hoping CiviMail will be fine for this.

I like MailChimp a lot, but CiviChimp doesn't look like it's ready for prime time yet.

I read this "Woe is me" thread: http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php?topic=13232.0

But here is where I think MailChimp is now offering some real value added. (Maybe CiviMail also offers this, I haven't used it yet). In MailChimp you can use an external stylesheet or a stylesheet in the header of your template... but when each e-mail actually goes out, MailChimp converts all the styles to be inline! The results for the various e-mail clients is a lot more reliable like that!

If it isn't already being done, how hard would that be to do for CiviMail?

Inlining  stylesheet would be super useful indeed. Don't think it's super complicated to implement.

That class can be an inspiration (or be reused directly?)
