Is 1.8 compatible with PHP4.3.9?
February 05, 2008, 08:54:56 pm
It looks like I can only install CiviCRM1.8 or below since my host server has PHP4.3.9 and MySQL5.0.15, but I read the 1.8 install instructions which say the 1.8 should be installed on "recommended" servers with PHP4.4.x.  Should I install 1.8 or 1.7? ???

We had done most of testing on PHP4.4.x. So that's recommended. This is same for v1.8 and v1.7

note that we do not have the resources or the energy to support older versions. As such we strongly recommend you install the latest version (1.9). You might want to consider getting an host which uses more recent software packages
