Subscribing CiviCRM Groups to Email updates?
February 06, 2008, 03:30:02 pm
Hi all,

We're new to CiviCRM and are using it with Drupal.  Is it possible for our site admin to subscribe a CiviCRM Group to email updates for certain sections of our site. We cannot find anything about this in the documentation.

For example:
Our Board of Directors may may want to know every time there is an update to content in the News section or RFPs are posted to the public for response. We're hoping the system will be able to automatically send them an alert about these updates. We use Drupal tagging to identify our content so we're wondering if the integration of the two systems is seamless enough to do this?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I dont think this is possible without some custom code. You potentially can use drupal's hook system to trap when a content is modified and then trigger an email to a civicrm group.

Thinking about it a bit, i think this is possible, but will take someone who knows both drupal and civicrm fairly well to get this implemented. This is not an "out of the box" feature
