[solved]Accessibility issue

I'm baffled.

I have some admins who constantly get errors like "You do not have permission to view this contact record" when trying to view or edit contacts, memberships or contributions.

If I log in as these users from my workstation, everything works fine. If they try on their end, it doesn't work. I know they're doing the correct operations, because I've had them record video of what they do.

This occurs on several different workstations on different browsers. We've checked every browser config parameter imaginable with no luck.

These users have all permissions to civi.

My environment:

Drupal 6.22 Pressflow/Varnish
CiviCRM 3.4.7

Anyone else experiencing this kind of behaviour ?

Can you check the roles of these admins and make sure they have permissions: "view all contacts" and "edit all contacts"

Check if they are switching URLs, as in going from civicrm.org to www.civicrm.org.

Thank you Hershel. I feel so silly. I somehow broke that rewrite rule...

There is actually, by default, no such rewrite rule. Drupal and CiviCRM allow both URLs, but the login cookies for each are unique. You can edit the .htaccess in Drupal to enable the rewrite rule--just read the comments there and you will see which lines to uncomment.

This problem, by the way, is quite common and very confusing for non-technical users.

Exactly what I meant. I had for some reason commented out the www-to-non-www 301 redirect rule in my .htaccess. Can't for the life of me remember when or why...  :P
