New to CiviCRM and Having problems installing on Joomla 1.5
December 20, 2011, 06:30:38 am
Hi i am completley new to CiviCRM but know Joomla fairly well.

CiviCRM has me stumped i have a brand new Joomla 1.5.25 site and have attempted to install CiviCRM onto it although unsuccessfuly.
Joomla doesnt seem to be seeing the CIVICRM files i have tried both install ways fpt and install through Joomla and neither work, has any one else had these issues or can offer advice i would be very grateful, i have read many forums posts and the documentation for CiviCRM and no where seems to be getting the issues i am.

Many Thanks
Rachel

It doesnt even go as far as getting any errors it just hangs on the install screen which makes me wonder if i am installing the right files, the error i get when i try and install from the FTP and not the zip is that the files do not exist

The zipped file i am trying to install is the 3.4.8

And the location of the FTP section is public_html/administrator/components/com_installer/com_civicrm

Any help you can give would be great.

I would suggest following steps mentioned here: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC40/Joomla+Installation+Guide+for+CiviCRM+3.4
