Can't make an extensions directory
December 22, 2011, 02:14:56 pm
Using Drupal 7 en CiviCRM 4.1 beta 1

Setting a directory for extensions in /civicrm/admin/setting/path does not work.

When there is no directory I get an error on /civicrm/admin/setting/path saying: 'Extensions Directory' not exist. That is OK.

After making a directory (also with owner apache and 777 rights) and hitting the submit button, I am getting the page /civicrm/admin/extensions?reset=1 with: with the error: your extensions directory is not set or is not writable. Click here to set the extension directory.

I am new in extensions. Is extensions only for joomla? What do I wrong?

I could not reproduce this on my local install or on the sandbox server

Re: Can't make an extensions directory

In the database, field civicrm_settings, I found two 'extensionsDir' settings. I deleted one (the one with no content in value). And there I have a working extension directory. In that directory two maps are created: 'cache' with a file timestamp, txt and 'tmp'

There is now an error
"The CiviCRM public extensions directory at http://extdir.civicrm.org/ could not be contacted - please check your webserver can make external HTTP requests or contact CiviCRM team on CiviCRM forum."
in civicrm/admin/extensions?reset=1. Maybe not related to civicrm4.1: I am on a new vps server.
