1.9 to 1.9 latest: Any special steps?
February 07, 2008, 09:17:50 am
I have an older 1.9 installation and I am about to upgrade to the latest 1.9 on Drupal.

Should I take any other steps beyond simply backing up and replacing my sites > all > modules > civicrm directory with the latest?

Any database stuff that I should worry about?

Thanks!

We do not modify database schemas between revisions of a release (except on very exceptional occassions). Pretty sure there were no changes once 1.9 stable was released - so you shouldn't need to do anything other than replacing the codebase.

for joomla, u'll have to treat it as a version upgrade, but there are no db changes, so u can skip the upgrade the db step (step 8)

OK. The obvious thing to check is that you followed step 3 first. Did you uninstall CiviCRM using the component uninstaller?

It is not unknown for Joomla to get confused with "another component is using" errors. Make sure that the uninstaller removed everything in the error folder, clear the joomla cache (Menu/system/Clean all caches) and try again.

I'd also advise searching the joomla forums and this forum for "another component is using"
