Memberships didnt expire
December 30, 2011, 12:40:44 pm
Hello, I had a system running Civicrm3.4.0. that I tried to upgrade to 3.4.7, then 3.4.1 but failed and now I am back at 3.4.0. based on a backup I made. This is not to complain about the failed upgrade however, but in the motnh that the system was offline several memberships were supposed to expire, now we have a back up that is a month old. Is there a way to force it to update?

Thanks

TR

Did you run UpdateMembershipRecord.php?

Thank you.
No I didnt run that file, but now I am trying to and getting the error:
'You need to send a valid key to execute this file'.
I already had a site key of 32 characters and now I have replaced it with a new one (16 chars), but it makes no difference. I keep getting this error.

Check instructions mentioned here: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC40/Command-line+Script+Configuration

My problem appeared after following these instructions, but for one reason or another it doesnt see that there is already a site key.in Civicrm.config.php

I try to execute this script from my browser, but should I then also type wget before the url?

Also: in Civicrm is a setting to let reminders be sent out. This is not used in my case, but should I then nevertheless comment out lines in UpdateMembershipRecords.php?

Thanks

I think I have found the problem: there was a reserved character in my password (I thought they were only not allowed in site keys). I could run the script now probably, but I still fear that my users will get reminders whcih I do not want.
I have not configured reminders, and in Civicrm it is not indicated that they should be sent, but I keep reading about commentaing out lines in the script itself and it looks like I should do this (should I????) starting line 227 but ending?????

You can set the membership reminder for each membership type. So when you create / edit membership type at the bottom you should have "Renewal Reminders" section.

So there is no need to edit the UpdateMembershipRecords.php file ?
