Public Profile Captcha not showing initially using Joomla
January 05, 2012, 12:39:51 pm
Hi,

I have searched through the forum and have been unable to find answers to this issue.
I am using Joomla 1.5.25 with Civicrm 3.4.7

My issue is with a Public Profile created for signing up for a newsletter.  I activated recaptcha and using the HTML Form Snippet, created an article in Joomla and placed a link on the websites main page.  The page opens correctly; however, the Captcha does not show on the page.  If the information on the page is completed and the Save button pressed, it returns an error "Please correct the following errors in the form fields below:      * is a required field." and now the Captcha information is visible.  Once the Captcha information is entered, and the Save button pressed, the information is saved and the person redirected to the thank you page.

Any help in getting the Captcha information to show up when the page is first accessed would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Danny

recaptcha does not work with html form snippets since by nature they are dynamic. You'll need to point people directly to the profile

lobo thanks for the info.

Is there documentation on how to point someone directly to the profile or can you provide those directions?

Thanks

I've been able to figure this out.  I had to add a menu item to get it to work.  It's strange that I can use a link in my module with the menu item enabled, but if I disable the menu item the link no longer works and gives a permissions error.
