Drill-down links on summary reports
January 09, 2012, 02:09:59 pm
On the report called "Donor Report (Summary)"  there are drill-down links that work as expected if the only "Group By" setting is "receive date."

However even if additional "Group By" fields are added, the hyperlink for the drop down does not include these additional group by fields.        A common choice on this report is to group by contribution type and receive date. But in this case, the drill-down seems illogical to the typical end-user because no matter which row they click on, the data on the next page does not directly correlate to the row they clicked.

This may to be an issue on other summary reports that allow for "Group by", but I have not tested other reports.

What should be the approach to fixing this?

I have tried to manually adjust the URL by adding the contribution type ID to the query string, but that is not working. Is the query string wrong?
