I'm looking around to see what might exist in the CiviCRM / Drupal space for what I call a virtual call centre: letting web users who are volunteering for a campaign phone people suggested by the campaign, whether for voter ID, GOTV, whatever.

A few years ago there was some discussion of a CiviPhonebank module. Then I think Rob Thorne may have done something for the Green Party of Canada if I'm not mistaken on this front. And folks at CiviActions were thinking about including functionality along these lines in a new version of Advokit designed to integrate with CiviCRM.

Any info on the state of things, particularly what is working reasonably well and open sourced, would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Joe

Joe,

I've got this, and it's actually usable, and "done", in a 0.8, get things done, kind of way.

See http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,1985.0.html

I'd be happy to engage with you on building this out further.

I could see that with a few custom fields and some geocoding, it should be possible to produce a list of prioritized actions for a group of volunteer phonebankers.  The application I had was for Legislators as Contacts, but they could just as well be voters, donors, etc.

Best,
Ken
