Moving Drupal and no more CiviCRM...
January 12, 2012, 09:43:51 pm
Hi,

I have a old Drupal 6.19 with CiviCRM 5.1 installation.  I would like to replace it with brandnew site Drupal 7 and last stable CiviCRM.

As I was in a hurry, I moved everything to another folder (www/ancien), and installed my new Drupal 7 at root.

I created a subdomain ancien.pvq.qc.ca to be able to keep online for some time the old website.  Everything is fine except the CiviCRM.

When I got to the dasboard, I get a blank page and the errorlog says :

"Request exceeded the limit of 10 internal redirects due to probable configuration error."

I did a lot of research on this in vain.

I do not really need to make it works.

My very first concern is to install a nez CiviCRM installation with the new Drupal 7 and find a way to get the data from the old on to populate this new one.

Could you indicate me what track I should follow in order to have all these data in the new isntallation?

Thank you.

It's not clear what you are doing. Do you want a fresh, empty Drupal 7 and then to upgrade your existing CiviCRM DB?

If so, install a fresh Drupal 7 and then a fresh CiviCRM 4.0.8 and THEN I would edit civicrm.settings.php to point to the old CiviCRM DB and then run the upgrader.

Of course make a backup of this DB first.

Thank you Hershel, this is exactly what I want to do at last.  I'll try this way.
