[SOLVED] Menu in back end is not obeying ACL.....
January 15, 2012, 12:18:08 am
Hi,

- Running J1.7.3, CiviCRM 4.0.7
- I have a J! user group on which I have set all permissions to allowed except for those in the screen shot and "Configure Joomla! ACL" in com_civicrm_configuration dialog.

However Mailings, Events, Reports are missing from the menu bar. Events and mailings modules are enabled and visible for other users. The J! user group I am using does not inherit from another group.

Any ideas? I have cleared caches, restarted servers etc. with no success. I really need to get this working and would appreciate all help and suggestions. Will generate any additional debug information if it will help.

have you given that user group permissions on

Access CiviMailing
Access CiviEvent

I suspect those are needed for the menu to show up

Hi Lobo,

Yes I have given access to both. The screenshot shows all the CiviMail options and that are all allowed. I have double checked CiviEvent seperately.

[SOLVED] Re: Menu in back end is not obeying ACL.....

Hi,

I cam across the ability to reset the menu while reading http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,22893.0.html. Using <YourJoomlaURL>/administrator/?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/menu/rebuild&reset=1 I was able to get the menu to add/remove items based on the changes that I had made to the ACL settings.

Lobo, perhaps when the user closes the config dialog then running the menu rebuild automatically is the way to go. I did not have time to debug this in code - sorry.
