Payment Processors (esp. Moneris) and PCI-DSS Compliance

Hello all--

What real-world experiences are people having with Moneris or other payment processors regarding PCI-DSS compliance expectations? Getting ourselves audited annually is definitely outside our small non-profits budget.

I've seen some other discussion on this, but nothing definitive. What's the current "state of play" for these issues? If some processors aren't possible without massive investments in regular auditing, which ones remain? Are there any stats on which processors people are actually using?

(this is a cross-post)

We are using Paypal Pro and didn't find PCI compliance that burdensome. It took about 3 days learning about it, laiasing with our chosen Vendor (SecurityMetrics), and filling out the questionnaire. SecurityMetrics asked us for £75/year to run compliance checks, the results of which we sent straight to Paypal who were happy with it.

This thread is the most useful for getting information about PCI Compliance and Civi.
