CiviEvents Module

Just looking to use this and select by event type, but the list of event types appeared to be wrong. I think the answer is that we run CiviCRM out of a different database to Joomla, so the mod_civievent.xml file (which looks as if it generates the group from the civicrm fields) is looking at the (empty) CiviCRM fields in the Joomla database and not the populated ones in the CiviCRM database.

Does that sound plausible?
Thanks.
