ERROR-Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in ...
January 17, 2012, 05:03:36 pm
Hello and help please. I'm using joomla 1.5.25 and joomla 3.4.5 I've created a contact profile with custom fields using organization and contact field sets. The profile is set to limit listings to a specific group and to add new contacts to a specific group. When saving I receive this Error: Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in htdocs\joomla\administrator\components\com_civicrm\civicrm\CRM\Core\BAO\UFGroup.php on line 890. Also same Notice for line 891 and 893.
All the data seems to be saved properly when viewing contacts in the back-end. All data appears properly below Notice. But why am I receiving this notice and what can I do to get rid of it?
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

This is just a notice and not an error. It won't affect any functionality. You can turn off notices in your php.ini. We have already fixed these notices for 4.1. It would be great if you can check and confirm it on http://sandbox.joomla.civicrm.org

Thanks
Kurund

Thanks Kurund for your reply and confirming my assumption regarding the Notice. Your suggestion is very helpful and happy to hear it has been fixed in 4.1. I went to the link you provided. I thought I'd be able to test on the volunteer SignUp link but received error. I'm a bit new to all this so if you have any suggestions on how to test through the sandbox it would be great. If not, no big deal.

Thanks again,
Kazoo

Basically go to  http://sandbox.joomla.civicrm.org , login and try to do the same stuff which you tried on your website. Make sure you don't get any notices.
