Upgrade from 2.2.2 to 4.08 on Joomla 1.5.6

I've unzipped the alt archive into the tmp/com_civicrm folder and when I try to install I get the following:

        Error! Could not find a Joomla! XML setup file in the package.
        Path does not have a valid package.

Any ideas would be very well received.

Hey Paul,

CiviCRM v4.08 is not compatible with Joomla 1.5.6, you should download CiviCRM v3.0.8 for joomla and try again
