random access denied message - edit contact
January 19, 2012, 12:48:55 pm
We are a new CiviCRM user setting up our membership database.
We are getting random access denied errors when trying to edit a contact. I checked permissions and roles with everything OK. Some users with the correct permission have no problems. Other users with the same permissions get access denied. I was able to recreate the problem on the office computer but not from other places. I created a new account for the person having the problem and the access denied continued with her new account. I gave her the role and permissions of someone not having the problem and she continued having the problem. She has tried different computers. The problem seems to happen after she searches a contact, brings up the results and clicks on view, edit or renew. Other kinds of edits seem to be allowed. Very frustrating. Any clues?
Thanks, George

Check that you're not changing from, for example, mysite.com to www.mysite.com because those are different URLs and you can be logged in on one and not logged in on the other.
