Preparing to upgrade
January 21, 2012, 05:30:47 am
Hi!

I am preparing to upgrade my site from 2.2.2 to 3.4. To do so, I wish to follow the advice and first upgrade a copy of the site, that runs on a hosted service. So I do an Akeeba backup, download and install it locally. Doing that, I get Joomla to run nicely, but Civicrm shows just a white page. Is there a way to solve this, so I can test-upgrade safely? Or should I just skip it, and rely on the backup if something goes bad?

Hi Magnus,

You might want to check if you have done all the steps suggested there:

Akeeba is not able to migrate your CiviCRM install. You will need to follow the wiki page noted above.

OK, thanks for that. I'll check and see what I make of it.

Do you think there will be big problems upgrading from 2.2.2 to 3.4?

Most upgrades are smooth. Just follow the instructions here http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC40/Upgrade+Drupal+Sites+to+3.4
