Administrative menu mostly broken on one of my sites
January 22, 2012, 10:19:05 am
.... and I cannot seem to fix it (even uninstalling/reinstalling CiviCRM 3.4.8 into Joomla 1.5.22 did not help).  Specifically

Logging into the Joomla site as administrator, clicking Components and then CiviCRM, the row of labelled buttons (Home, Search, .... Help) does not appear - rather these labels appear as "non-clickable" text in a vertical column on the left.

If I run http://<site>/administrator/index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/admin/setting/updateConfigBackend&reset=1
then the menu and sub-menu items appears as two columns of clickable text in the bottom half of the window.

But if I run http://<site>/administrator/index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/menu/rebuild&reset=1
then I am back in the state that I am in when I start and administrative session.

All of this is repeatable - I cannot find anything else on the site that fails ...

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Jonathan

Many times (including once one minute ago) - no joy

Can you check if your resource url is correctly configured. Check: http://joomla.demo.civicrm.org/administrator/index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/admin/setting/url&reset=1

Do you get any errors in your javascript console.

Thanks - that led me in the right direction.  The stored values had been <site-name>/\adiministrator .... (note the superflousr '\' character).  This was a remnant from a version 3.3.3 bug that I thought I had cured, but obviously I missed some spots.

Thanks again

Jonathan
