Do I need Rules Module for CiviCRM?

for some reason I thought I did and I'm having trouble completing the activation (can't find the "entity" -- module I assume) on the Drupal site... I found lots of modules with the word entity in them but nothing that was simply "Entity Module);

If I don't need it anyway, I'll put this aside until later.  We're planning to use the following CiviCRM components:
Phase 1: Member, Contribute, Events, Mail, Reporting (or maybe just Views)
Phase 2: Case Management (possibly Engagement)
If we can use Grants for grants we receive (I've seen hints it can be), then down the road Grants.

If I do need it, can someone tell me exactly what it is called so I can install it?  and also how to get "entity_token"?

Thanks
Saroj

U dont need the rules module for civicrm (for what u r doing)

there is some "simple" rules integration for a civimail approval workflow, but it is optional

Nope, you don't need rules module for this. I would recommend reading: http://book.civicrm.org/user/case-management/what-is-civicase

I've read most of that... have a question... was the menu UI changed since the doco was written?  After I enabled the CASE module, "Other" appeared on the menu, but it isn't active; "Cases" also appeared and has the necessary items to create and manage cases.  I've spent considerable time running through the functionality on the demo server... mine doesn't work right yet since I haven't set up the XML files.  I see a lot of links for how-to so I'm sure I'll figure it out... I looked at the samples and it appears pretty straight-forward.

Should I be concerned that "Other" is an inactive menu item?

I see it on the demo site with both "Cases" and "Grants" beneath it.

Thanks,
Saroj

You need to enable CiviCase component first and then menu's will appear like demo. check http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/setting/component?reset=1

Kurund, please read my previous post again.. I have already enabled CiviCASE...AND read the documentation...

BUT it doesn't conform to the documentation as I described... is this an error in the documentation, a bug in CiviCRM or some setting or change I need to make?  I thought the demo might look different because it has CiviGRANT enabled and I don't.

r u using 4.1 or 4.0? note that sometime the docs have not been updated to match the latest version of the software.

There have been some significant menu changes in 4.1
