Looking for paid power-user/"Helpdesk" support for CiviCRM
February 11, 2008, 08:39:03 am
Hello,
My name is Cynthia Tarascio. I work in the IT Department for the Philadelphia-based branch of the American Friends Service Committee. The AFSC is a large Quaker-based peace and social justice organization with offices all over the world.
We have multiple CiviCRM sites and I am in search of power-user, helpdesk-type support for our users. If you are interested, please read on and I will provide some background and a bit of detail. If you aren’t interested but can recommend someone who might be, I would welcome that input.
Currently, we have 8 CiviCRM sites that we have been hosting ourselves since the end of January. We installed the LAMP stack ourselves and then enlisted the services of the WebAccess team to install Drupal 5.6 and CiviCRM 1.9. They also migrated the Drupal/Civi data from CivicSpaceOnDemand to our in-house server. We have one code base for both Drupal and CiviCRM, but each site has its own database. We are using the CiviSMTP service for bulk e-mailings.
Like most large organizations, some of the people who use (or will use) CiviCRM are very “technically savvy” and some aren’t. The former group is likely to post questions/issues to the forum. The latter, will contact me. As I expect the number of CiviCRM sites/users to increase, there is no way that I can provide this kind of support to our users and I am afraid that many will become frustrated and give up on CiviCRM. I really don’t want that to happen.
Thus the purpose of this post: we’d like to enlist the paid services of one/several individuals or maybe a consulting group, who are CiviCRM “power users”, that we could email and/or talk to directly about our questions/issues with using CiviCRM. These would be specific “how do I do this”-type questions.
If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact me via email and let’s schedule a time to talk. West Coast location, particularly Los Angeles would be ideal but this is not mandatory.
Sincerely,
Cynthia Tarascio
