Joomla backup/restore errors
January 25, 2012, 03:02:19 pm
Hi All,

This issue may be of my own doing, but I'm hoping someone here can help me resolve it.

I recently upgraded my test site to Joomla 2.5 for testing.  The upgrade had some issues so I rolled back via an akeeba backup I had taken.  The Backup was set to exclude all civiCRM cache tables (I figured this was the same as the SQL ignore function explained in the migration wiki, but clearly I was wrong).

I can access Civi back-end dashboard fine, however, when I try to edit any data (contact, events etc) I get the error shown in the screenshot.

What could be the issue here?  I have checked the contact tables in my DB and they are all still populated.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for you reply Krund, however, I managed to figure this one out.  I'll explain for the benefit of those who may read this later on :)

Turns out that all I needed to do was re-create the missing cache tables in my database.  I was able to do this from a local copy of the site that I had on my laptop.  Once these were in place, Civi was happy again.  I have since re-configured Akeeba Backup to 'ignore contents' of these tables rather than 'exclude from backup'.

In short, if you are using the Joomla Akeeba Backup extension to migrate to another server, set it to 'ignore contents of' all CiviCRM cache tables as well and the CiviCRM domain table.

Cheers
