Newbie question: CiviCRM modules missing requirements "Og" and "Rules"
January 26, 2012, 06:09:24 pm
I am trying to practice setting up CiviCRM on my laptop before going to a server.

I am running Ubuntu 11.10.

I successfully installed
Apache 2
MySQL 5.1.58
PHP 5.3
Drupal 7.1

Drupal seems to be running just fine on localhost/drupal/#

I went into the modules and tried to enable CiviCRM and the seven accompanying parts, but two cannot be selected:
CiviCRM OG Sync (missing Og)
CiviCRM Rules Integration (missing Rules)

So the installation remains incomplete.

I am a newbie, so please let me know how I can find Og and Rules, and how to install them?  Thanks so much!

Thanks for the links!  So I've found that uploading and extracting the tar.gz files from the drupal UI installs them correctly (extracting the file and moving it to the correct folder with sudo mv was not working for me).  But the new modules have new requirements! (so I installed Entity API as well...).  I started enabling the required modules and that broke the site.  Now localhost/drupal/# gives me a blank page.  Maybe I should just start over?  :'(

You could start over, or try to find the error in your Apache error logs and post that.
