Email address in profile not going bi-lingual, how to patch it?

I have a profile on an event registration form.  Despite entering a bi-lingual value for the email field, email remains the only field on the form that will not show properly as bi-lingual.  Must be a glitch in the code, I looked for a patch to no avail.  I am on a Joomla 1.5 site using CiviCRM 3.4.8

Can anyone point me in the direction of a patch for this issue, if it's been fixed, or can suggest a workaround on a joomla site?  thanks!

hmm. does email have multi-lingual values?

Emails are monolingual but the label is not.

I was referring to the email label, sorry if that wasn't clear.  The profile label for email doesn't appear to 'switch' languages like the other field labels in a profile, even though bilingual options for email label are available in 3.4.8

For instance, in French email address is "courriel".

hmm thats wierd

i took a quick look thru the code and did not seem like we treat email as a special field :( so not sure why

i'll ask some multi-lingual folks to check and see if they have any ideas
