Your extensions directory: %1 is not web server writable
January 28, 2012, 09:13:10 am
Hi, I am very new to CiviCRM and Drupal. I have installed both on a dedicated server.
I have checked through PHP settings and just about every manual and forum I could find that may give me the answer as to why I continuously get an error that says "Your extensions directory: %1 is not web server writable. Please go to the path setting page and correct it. Your extensions directory: %1 is not web server writeable. Please go to the path setting page and correct it. Your extensions directory: %1 is not web server writable. Please go to the path setting page and correct it."

I have checked the setting and access on the server and nothing appears out of the ordinary and seems to be set correctly.

Does anyone have any ideas of what can do to fix this error message.

I realise that I have not put a massive description of settings but I have gone through the CiviCRM books and website and cannot seem to find any answers. The it company that runs the server assures me that access is available to all folders that require it?

What other information could I post to make this query more understandable?

Sisha

I have just started exploring CiviCRM and get this message too. Mine is an install of version 3.4 on a Drupal V6 install.

Did you get an answer?

Where is the Extensions folder supposed to go/be, and how do you get it so it works?

Thanks,
Steve

Friday fact: %1 is not writable, but it owns 40% of the server's wealth. You should occupy your hard-disk!

Sorry got carried away ;)

Where is the message displayed?

You can change the setting for this directory  there,  see if it helps

I was also getting this error.  There appears to be an error in the install/index.php file.  I fixed it by removing CIVICRM_DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR. from line 368.  Rechecked the requirements and all was green.  Attached is a mondified index.php (rename index.txt to index.php)

What is the line of code you changed exactly? I need to change it in Version 6.
