Can I add a Membership to multiple contacts using a batch process?
February 02, 2012, 12:12:08 pm
I want to be able to add a membership to a set of contacts in a search result set. Is this possible?

I just posted a similar request here:

http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,23287.0.html

Not sure if the aim is the same, but once someone who knows more than we do responds maybe we can look into trying to make it happen together.

Thanks,

Adam

I was able to accomplish this, but not directly.

I exported the search results to a CSV file then I imported the same using the Import Memberships option. To prepare it for import, I added a few columns to the CSV file, including the Membership Type, Start Date and whatever else the import required. Not a turnkey solution, but workable.

I do this the same as epmcl.

Make sure your start and end dates are in the correct import format.

Also check those members who are NOT current. I found that Civi imports these members but records the members as Inactive. This means they don't get included in membership renewal processes.
