Added Activity to Dashboard and now Dashboard wont load.
February 03, 2012, 02:26:59 pm
I added the Activity icon to the "admin" (user name) Dashboard and now all I get is a "loading...".  When I login with another administrator account - "membership" (user name) the dashboard comes up fine - it does not have anything configured on it yet.  I am afraid to add anything.  The admin dashboard locks up CiviCRM so I cannot click on any other CiviCRM drop down or any Joomla! dropdowns.  I have to shut down the browser and wait a couple of minutes.  I am on CiviCRM 4.0.8 and Joomla! 1.6 and mostly use Google Chrome but it does the same thing in IE (7 or 8).  If I let it churn, after 5 or so minutes I get a Chrome error that says "Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data" and Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data.  First how can I remove the "activity" from the dashboard so it doesnt lock up and second, why would it lock up?

Can you use Firefox and install Firebug and then look at the Net tab of Firebug when the page loads and tell us if you see any errors there? Also look on the Console tab.

Sorry, for some reason I didn't notice that someone responded.  I only hangs up for the admin login.  It doesn't hang up for any other users.  Is there a way to clear (or copy default values back) my dashboard preferences for the admin user?  I can try Firefox (I use Chrome) and see if I get an errors.  Personally I think something got messed up in the profile.  Thanks in advance.

You have Joomla 1.7? It looks like a JS error either with Joomla's core JS or with a Joomla add-on.
