Separate Location option list for Organisation contact type, etc.

I've been working with a client on a new CiviCRM implementation, and they've been asking some great questions. The first thing to pop out of this discussion is the limitation of a single Location Types option list as applied to contacts for their address, and other contact information. The defaults as offered are by and large OK for Individuals and to a lesser degree for Households, but don't really work for Organisations. And of course if the administrator creates additional contact types these may benefit form other options in terms of Location. So, in summary - it would great to have more flexibility on this option list, including the ability to use different option lists for different contact types.

Possibly linked to this, we also talked about how to identify particular individual contacts related to an organisation contact. The example here is that while the organisation is the member, there are likely to be different contacts within that organisation who are the primary points of contact for specific issues, e.g. there will be someone who handles the membership within the organisation, someone with responsibility for data, for finance, for events, etc. We can use groups, tags and additional relationships to build this picture within CiviCRM, but it would be great if these key contacts could be summarised, listed and viewed from within the organisation contact record.
