Multiple participants roles in one event
February 06, 2012, 01:34:41 am
    Hi,

I want to know if it is possible to create one event with multiple participant roles (and maximum participants per event).
    Something like this:
    One event with following participants:
    • Volonteers: 10
    • Teamleaders: 2
(teamleader option should only be available to selected users)

dont think so :(

easiest option might be to create two different event registrations, one for volunteers and one for teamleaders

You could custom code a small Drupal module to create these limits, if that would work better than separate events.

I have this exact same scenario and have to create a separate event to solve this issue.  Nice thing is that reports will allow you to combine events so you can create attendee lists for everyone broken down by type.  I think the reason for this restriction has to do with fee structures.

Has any more development or progress in this area happened in recent versions? Our organization has the exact same need, a way of handling multiple participant roles for a single event registration plus the capacity for each participant roles. Donald's suggestion is excellent but rather cumbersome for event coordinators.
